Just bought a new camera. It can output RAW images. I think I can get a codec from canon to display the images in windows, but I guess I need the Picture library to support the CR2 extension.

Not sure what other support may be required. Anyone with any experience with RAW format images?

With the right codec all you should need is to add the extension to the Picture Library "supported" list. See http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manua...brary#toc6

Was actually cos the master Andoni decided to pull our old one off the table. But insurance and a significant upgrade later we now have a Canon SLR - to take picture of his first Xmas!!

Disk space be damned. If you still have the original picasa link, my first SLR photo is the very last one in the album.

The link is broke - I can only see your public albums - you must have made Andoni private...Sad

IMHO, you only need raw files for critical photography where you want complete control over the processing of the image (especially exposure and colour balance).

For general family shots, jpeg is plenty good enough and uses up a lot less space.

Try that. I've just set it to public again. The picasa application was playing silly buggers with my web albums.

I know, Its only when I look at the pictures you see him growing up. You forget when you see him day to day. 7 months old now.

7 and a half months... (half a month is really important at his age...)
