does anybody have I-XMLTV for Schedules Direct working on a win7 64bit machine. doesn't want to work for me. right now I am using UltraXMLTV Enhancer Version 2 but cannot get the bat. file to work for some reason and have to manually update the guide in several different steps. any suggestions for either would be much appreciated.
thanks

I wasn't able to get EpgExtra to work in W7 X64 either. I think it has something to do with the W7 saving files in places other than where the program expects it to be but I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I have save zaptoitXML set in config but I can't find the file in root C: where it use to be in XP.

Since Vista, Programs need to run with administrative permissions to write to:

c:\
c:\Program Files\
c:\Program Files(x86)
, and several other "sensitive" windows folders like C:\windows\system32, ect..

So the default install directory becomes off limits without "Running as administrator", and even then you may recieve UAC prompts.

One method to test this out is to install everything to C:\GBPVR or C:\EPG (depending on level of fuss you wish to involve). I currently have GBPVR and the EPG on a separate drive (D:\GBPVR, and D:\EPG)

I am running W7x64, will have a look at UltraXMLTV Enhancer, it hasn't made the transition yet on my new HPTC, but I used to run it on my XP box.

It isn't 64 bit compatible http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=45676

Thanks, that saves me some trouble setting it up then (which I was about to do). My new box is a completely fresh install and had not had the time to set up everything.

EDIT: I still may try it since I am not using the program files folders.

Ah, it appears to be working for me..will see when done processing.

Yep, it works for me with everything installed into non-"Program files" type folders.

Unfortunately no, I-xmltv is a 16 bit app also.
When I bought my Win7 64-bit system I tried compiling I-xmltv as a 32 bit app using a beta 32 bit Q-Basic compiler, but the compiler doesn’t support a lot of Q-Basic functions so it didn’t work.
DosBox was another option I tried, but it was much to slow. A 10-second enhancement in win32 took hours in DosBox.
I haven’t tried anything else because I have 32 bit systems that can download and enhance my epg.

yea, i have defaulted to installing it in different directory also...resolves all those weird vista/win7 issues...[d:\gbpvr for me too..it's own partition too to avoid fragmentation and speed seeking]
and since all 64bit really gets you is more mem, it's not worth the trouble to me for a pvr..[buggy drivers, and this sort of thing.]

so anywhere but program files and you'll be good..Big Grin
