Haven't seen this one. On a fresh install of Windows 7 Premium, every time I start the GB-PVR configuration utility I am getting "Please wait while Windows configures GB-PVR" popups. It prompted for the location of "GBPVR10407.msi" so I pointed it to my local copy but it didn't repair the problem. After the popups, the Config utility does appear however.

I looked at the Event Viewer. There a bunch of information and warning messages from the MsiInstaller. Here are the relevant texts:

Quote:WARNING:
Detection of product '{04584A06-E3DA-4A8F-A1A9-E91EFF5B6829}', feature 'Complete', component '{9E7A2026-7510-4C94-BC03-EE27A22A6E43}' failed. The resource 'C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\web\ManageNav.ascx.cs' does not exist.

Quote:WARNING:
Detection of product '{04584A06-E3DA-4A8F-A1A9-E91EFF5B6829}', feature 'Complete' failed during request for component '{70299A31-C0DE-4E25-8729-3EF7A447FF0F}'

Quote:INFORMATION:
Product: GB-PVR -- Configuration failed.

Quote:INFORMATION:
Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: GB-PVR. Product Version: 1.4.7. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Menten Holdings Ltd. Reconfiguration success or error status: 1603.

Did a quick search did find an MSI exit code page:
Quote:1603
Fatal error during installation.
ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE

As the Event Viewer messages suggests, I do not have a "ManageNav.ascx.cs." I have "Manage2.aspx.cs" and the next file is "ManualRecord.aspx" in C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\web\

In the EWA build 83 archive, I don't see that file.
In the GB-PVR 1.4.7 msi, there is a "ManageNav.ascx" and a "ManageNav.ascx.cs."

Stats:
Windows 7 Premium x32
GB-PVR 1.4.7
EWA build 83

I think this is a know issue with Build 82 http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=45249 so I'd expect 83 would have it too.

Yes. I've been using EWA for years and have always installed it the same way.

I don't think it's problem with the installation procedure. Everything in \web gets wiped out, except \web\bin. If that file gets put in \web by the MSI installer... when I upgrade EWA that file gets removed and is not put back because it's not in the EWA build archive.

That is what's happening. Thanks for the link. It didn't come up in my searches.

The ManageNav should not be in there....I must have inadvertently let it slip through in the last release with GBPVR.

That file is actually part of an optional EWA plugin called Season Recording Manager.

I have attached the the ManageNav.acsx and ManageNav.cs files.....just unzip to the web directory.

Sorry about that....at least the mystery is solved as to why this repair started cropping up with the last Build.

BINGO! Never got around to figuring out why _THAT_ tab went missing after upgrading to EWA 82... Big Grin

Got to remember to look at TOCs more frequently. Wink

Thanks for the workaround.

I was wondering why this was happening on a fresh install. I had totally forgot that MSI messages are logged... been out of the Windows support world for too long Smile
