TV Recordings is Empty for "Ready"

I did something to mess up the TV Recordings plug-in. Unfortunately, I did a number of things before I noticed theproblem so I can't simply undo one thing.

When I select READY, to try to display a list of all recordings, the list is empty. The standard RECORDINGS plug-in shows the recordings though.

How can I "reset" the TV Recordings plug-in so it sees all the recordings?

I found what my problem was. The situation was very unique but in the chance that someone else may find themselves in the same situation, I am summarizing what went wrong and how I fixed it.

CONFIG still had some old channels listed in the CHANNEL tab that were no longer valid due to lineup changes or something. I had never been able to delete them within CONFIG. I recently deleted them directly in the GBPVR.db3 data base.

When TV Recordings tried to show the READY shows, it reported an error in the PVRX2.exe log that it couldn't find the channel with oid equals xx. These were shows that were recorded a long time ago using the no longer valid channels.

To fix the problem I went into the Programme and Recording_schedule tables and changed the channel_oid field for any records that pointed to the bad channel_oid and entered a currently valid channel_oid.

Not so unique possibly.

As long as there is an old show existing that is recorded on an old channel name, you cannot delete that channel. I've put up with disabled, but still present channels from many years back. I guess that probably the easiest way to get rid of them is to rename that channel if it gets renamed in the EPG.

After I finally "fixed" it on my system, it occurred to me why I was never able to delete the obsolete channels within CONFIG. It allows you to remove "UNREFERENCED" channels. These channels, although they were not actual current ones, were being referenced by the old recordings.

To anyone who wants to see some of the internal workings of the GBPVR data base, I highly recommend the SQLite Manager plug-in for Firefox. It allows you to view the data tables and even edit the data without needing a programming background. Of course, if you decide to do any more than just look at the data you will be responsible for any unintended consequences.
