I am trying to work out how to mute the WMP that is embedded in IE when you go to this site.

http://www.tvunetworks.com/watchTV/#c=11201

If anyone has any ideas then I would be really happy to hear them.

Thanks

ummm, use global mute key?
i usually just send appcommand mute key...mutes all sounds..
or do you just wanna mute that app?
probably doesn't work that way...sound is kinda always global..

yeah I was after app mute not global, have found an app that does it (sort of) but would prefer to do it programmatically.
yeah website needs firefox 3.5 or IE to run.
I am looking at wrapping it all up and launching VLC to receive the network stream from the webplayer (it runs a small app that serves the content on the loopback address.

It is actually watchable through VLC on a 42 inch TV, not great but watchable....

F7 is the mute button when a WMP control has focus but that site plays in Silverlight for me, not WMP.

Thanks guys, found a much better way, than that site. I now have VLC playlist with direct streaming for almost all UK tv channels. very cool. As a quick and dirty integration with GBPVR I will setup GameZone to launch VLC with the correct channel. :-)

Perhaps there is a need for a plugin that uses VLC for media streaming etc.. hmmm not a bad idea.

UbuStream does it. I was supposed to be helping Martin maintain it while Ubu is away but I've been too busy. Perhaps you can help him.
