Hello,

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS, brilliant forum!!!
I've already done some things that I found here to have GB-PVR up and running.

As I'm really new in this kind of environment, I hope that I'm not doing a stupid question Wink

GB-PVR runs properly to see movies, pictures and so on... Now I'm trying to setup my brand new TVcard (wintv-nova-td-500 hd) and I got blocked...

I've installed the software that comes with the card (which is really bad) and it runs properly, I can see the TV. Then I tried to setup the card in GB-PVR using the "config" tool and during the scanning (chanel 20/57) when the very first channel is found, the system gets totally blocked, no blue screen, no error message, just blocked. The only option is to turn it off.

As the card doesn't appear in the combo box, I created the following lines in the bda.ini (from another thread):
[Hauppauge WinTV Nova-TD-500 DVB-T #1]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path0)"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[Hauppauge WinTV Nova-TD-500 DVB-T #2]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path1) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path1)"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

But it happens the same...
I'm in Barcelona (Spain), when selecting the country, it doesn't appear so I left "All Countries"... Is it correct?

Ah! The OS is Win XP SP3.

If someone could help me I will really appreciate it.
And sorry for my English, it's not so good Big Grin

Thanks in advance

I'd suggest trying the newer NPVR software instead of GBPVR (which is no longer being developed). It's scanning is much better, and less prone to errors.

I have downloaded N-PVR and will try.

It seems to me that NPVR is like some kind of hidden project Wink
The homepage allows you to download only GBPVR, and I don't know exactly why, when I tried to open the forum "NPVR Announcements" no threads are shown because only the last day updated threads appears in the selection... It could be useful to include a link in the homepage (gbpvr.com) to avoid that new users like me don't enjoy the latest version of this really good software. Just a suggestion ;-)

Thanks for the support

Its pretty new software, only released a few weeks ago and still in beta testing. In the next month or so I'll probably update the website to make NPVR more prominent.

sub you do seem to have something setup wrong now you have changed the name from GBPVR Announcements to NPVR Announcements as now when you click on the heading you get

"There have been no posts in the last 1 days in this forum. Try using the controls below to search for any older posts that may exist"

Hi there,

Unfortunately I haven't had any chance to test NPVR until yesterday... amazing... holidays, family... and not too much time for the real relevant things Wink

Thanks a lot, now the channel scan runs properly and almost everything is running.
My next battle will be to use the remote coming with the TV-Card... I will search in the forum...

As I can see Jaggy explained better than I did the problem with the NPVR forums and now it's solved. Thanks.

Keep in touch,
Dilvish
