I think I suggested that a long time ago. I really like it.

Let me see... i am using npvr 90 percent as mediacenter and 10 percent as pvr. I am just unabled to suggest any pvr related name. This software is much more than this.
You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!

Ya know, I think I like "thePVR". In our house it is called "the PVR", it can be pronounced to rhyme with G-PVR, you could rotate the old logo and cross the G to make a T.
Looks like thepvr.com is taken (but might be available), How about thepvr.tv?
What, me worry?

At this point, I'd be willing to switch my vote to G3PVR if it will bring closure to the issue for sub.

Has anyone noticed that NextPVR is gaining ground in the poll? I don't recall the precise numbers, but a month or two ago the numbers were better than 2 to 1 in favor of g3pvr whereas now it's approaching a 60-40 split. In politics they still call that a landslide, but it seems to suggest that new users (the likely recent voters) are much more in favor of NextPVR compared to the early voters who perhaps tended to be more sentimental about a name similar to GB-PVR.

As NPVR is getting more and more rooted in the community, one way to solve this issue is to keep the short name NPVR and find a good long name for the N. I propose New instead of the Next.
NPVR = NewPVR. That way Sub can settle on a name that works Ok and keep the NPVR shortname. The domain name newpvr.com seems to be free as well. I think this is a good solution.

A good long name for the N? I propose:
NebulaphobiaPVR
"It's better than a box!"

I would have said GB-PVR 2 but nPVR is fine too. G3PVR is a bit of a mouthful.
But really I don't care, it's just a name, as long as it works I don't mind! |
