Also, as to adding the channels, is it possible to have a user maintained list of satellite TV package SCAN files (i.e. for Freesat / Sky / Sky Italia etc.) on the forums that are easily downloaded and integrated into NPVR?

(also sorry if NPVR doesn't use SCAN files anymore, I'm a luddite and still haven't upgraded from 1.4.7, testimony to how stable that release is!)

In the mean time have you tried DVBGuide? - It even has a bat file for freesat which would be a good start for EPGUpdate.bat
Apparently the full EPG only takes 30 seconds to download and it has a lot of the huffman decoding enabled for the HD Guides.

Yes, DVBGuide is so good at grabbing the Freesat EPG that it's really not worth the hassle and time it would cause sub to try to support it in nPVR. It's very simple to use, and the end result is the same.
