I saw the other post about glitchy audio, but it got very confused with a separate MPG playback issue, so here we go again with a clean thread.

Upgrading from 1.5.31 to 1.5.33 has taken my pristine audio and made it very glitchy. Also, if I pause live tv, after restarting play, I have major sync issues I can't seem to resolve.

My source is just DVB-S (FreeView NZ Satellite). Something has taken a turn for the worse in this release.

I see this problem as well. Although for me it usually (not always) sorts itself out after about 10 seconds of playback. Both the video and the audio seem to have hiccups. A pause of skip forward or back will cause another 10 seconds of stuttering. I've only tried it with HD on an ION client so far and I've not had time to do any investigation into other permutations yet, but I will look at it some more later today and post back.

Server: Ci5 2500k, 3GB, Windows Server 2012, nPVR 3.5.7. 2xWinTV-DVB-T USB, 1xWinTV-DVB-T PCI, 2 x BlackGold DVB-T, 1xPCTV290E and 1xPCTV460E on Astra 28.2 E.
clients: RPI2, Acer R3700, PCH-A110, NUC, 3xSamsung Smart TV

Ok, I've looked at this a bit more now. For me, it only happens with HD recordings. SD is perfect. It happens on both my Ion clients and on my NMT's. The video seems to be OK on the NMT, but stutters and skips on the PC client. The audio skips and hiccups on both.

If you are getting glitchy audio on you NMT I think something is wrong with your network or data source. What is your CPU use when streaming?

For me, I get glitchy audio on the PVR itself, and I only have SD DVB-S sources. I will collect some logs and post them when I'm next at home.

The same recordings dont have the audio stutter when played on the NMT from a GBPVR backend. To be fair, after the first few seconds of hiccupping whilst it seems to be getting its audio and video ducks in a line, both the NMT and the ION client play impeccably. The hiccups are definately more intrusive in the Ion. The NMT could be better described as brief audio drop outs.

The CPU usage on the server is <5%. On the Ion its < 30%. This is over a wired GB network.

I haven't tried them on the server as it doesn't have a GPU, so I don't expect it to handle h.264.

Logs help sometimes (in this case, we can check to see if the audio clock is being set properly).

Client Ion PC npvr log attached from a short play of an H.264 recording with a couple of skip forwards that both stuttered.
