im trying to add "Auto play dvd on insertion" functionality, i can determine if a video is playing via EventTypes.CurrentVideoTrack and EventTypes.VideoStopping im just wondering how i can determine if live tv is currently being viewed. the two live tv types are EventTypes.CurrentChannelNumber and EventTypes.CurrentChannelName; can these be used to tell if live tv is/isnt being used?

You'll receive EventTypes.VideoStopping when its stopped.

what about when you enter tv? i just simple mark a bool to true when video is playing back, and when it stops i mark it to be false, and if false and a dvd is entered it auto startst the dvd. is the "EventTypes.CurrentChannelName" event sent when live tv is entered?
