File browsing - a big ask

sub, feel free to shoot this down, but I thought I'd ask anyway...

A couple of the plugins I'm working on (and some I haven't even started) need to do standard directory/file browsing, just like the existing video/pictures/music plugins that you provide. Is there any chance you'd be willing to either a) provide the source you use to do this, or b) somehow make it possible for plugins to piggy-back on the existing file browsing ability? It could save us (me in particular ) a lot of work reimplementing functionality that's already there.

I know neither option is probably ideal for you, but you've provided some source in the past (eg, code for the main menu) and I found it extremely helpful at the time.

I am working on a very basic file browser plugin. At the moment it does what I need: running external commands on the selected file and moving a file/directory around with simultaneous database update. It is still in an alpha stage and has some basic file browsing implemented. I am willing to share the source if anyone needs it.
