sub Wrote:Basically I have to run with the compatibility view turned on until VB4 has some compatibility stuff fixed, which means I also get this huge main page. Hmmm to be honest I've never really even used compatibility view in IE8, it is actually annoying that the most commonly used Windows PC web browser (IE) likes to work outside of some of the rules. As NPVR is the future of PC based TV etc and more and more people will be using IE9 I think we need to get this page looking good in IE8 and 9. It may be by this that it will still look ok in IE6 & 7. It is a difficult mix as pmwiki is brilliant but there are some limitations when trying to get these more 'one off' pages right. Thank you all good stuff! Steeb

steeb Wrote:(if IE9 is so slow on Atom guess you will be uninstalling it after problem solving!) lol, after disabling the gpu rendering in the settings of IE 9 (is the ion to weak for a website like the wiki), the nwiki shows up in normal speed. ^^; You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!

Yes, of course it would be! I am to stupid to design a website and my english knowledge is... not good enough to write articles. But if i can help you with these type of work, yes, of course i would be happily willing to help. ;D

Certainly one thing I can say is you are not stupid to design a website, it all depends how it LOOKS! Also your english is fantastic! The stuff you give me here is what I need. Steeb

I'm attempting to do something different with the NPVR homepage
something like this would bring me closer http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/IncludeUrl are there any pmwiki experts or anyone with a more observant mind out there that could make something like this possible? cheers Steeb
Just to push with more ideas here:
something a bit more integrated like: http://wordpress.org/ I'm not saying that this layout is the way but just thoughts? Integration? Steeb

I know so few read this thread and even fewer respond so I will keep myself entertained by writing here
What I was suggesting is that if the new NPVR homepage was a little more integrated like: http://wordpress.org/ (I used wordpress as an example because it is totally non-pvr related) instead of http://www.gbpvr.com/ with a forum link bar, a wiki link bar, a download bar, a donate bit and all the bumph that is currently on wiki homepage with screenshots then surely wiki homepage could be done away with detail apart from, "hello this is the wiki for NPVR etc"? Steeb
Or the homepage for gbpvr.com could just be the home page for the wiki? The problem with an HTML homepage is that only sub can edit it, his time is better spent on developing nPVR, and spending with family...
