Is NPVR supposed to be dropping all periods and apostrophes in the names of your recording folders?

From memory, these are valid filename characters, so probably wouldnt be dropped.

Well I think they are being dropped. The reason I ask is because the searchlite plugin doesn't drop them, resulting in cover picture that don't show up until I manually change the names of the images.

Instead of "Married ... with children", the recording folder is named "Married with children" (there are 2 spaces between "Married" and "with").
"It's effin' science" is in a folder named "Its effin science".

2010-11-15, 05:04 AM (This post was last modified: 2010-11-15, 05:21 AM by johnsonx42.)
I've noticed that cover art fetched by searchlite doesn't show up for any show with non-alphanumeric characters in the title, but hadn't yet gotten around to griping about it (nor figuring out who to gripe to).

oops: let me ammend that- it's not any show with non-alphanumeric characters, it's any show with an apostrophe in the title, like "Grey's Anatomy", "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood", "America's Got Talent". NPVR drops the apostrophe from the directory name, and won't show the artwork unless I drop the apostrophe from the .jpg name as well. Other non-alphanumeric characters seem to be ok such as "!" and "&". I don't seem to be having a problem with periods either; I have two "Pokerstars.net" shows and both keep the periods in the directory name and show the artwork without any help. So for me it's just the apostrophes.

Yeah, that's what I first mentioned... apostrophes, and periods are both dropped.

Periods are ok for me, but I've never tried to record "Married ... with children".

But mostly I was meaning to agree with you.

Here's a version of SearchLite that ignore the apostrophe. Punk'd was on right now so it was easy to test. It's probably better to change in SearchLite rather then changing recordings.

Sorry about the 7z file johnsonx42 that's what I use.

lol martin, my vehement insistence on .zip applies only to log files. for files I actually want to extract and save somewhere, I generally use 7zip to extract them even if they're regular .zip files.

What's the name of the show you have recorded with periods in it?
