I have been requested to do a BlueRetroVE+ skin for TVListings & as I have very very limited time at the moment I have stared with the TV Recordings skin.

I must admit while I have looked at the old GBPVR version a couple of times in the past I never realised how much (with some skinning) it "should" do exactly what I want so I never continued with it but I feel this new version will replace the built in Recordings for me.

I have run into a space problem because BRVE+ is based on bigger fonts & I only have 4x3 TV's I would really like to use "@longPeriod" but it doesn't quite fit in the list box so I was wondering if you could add a @shortlongPeriod as in something like "Wed, 17 Nov 2010 10:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (30 min)"

Hi,

then, the difference would be "Wed" instead of "Wednesday", right? I'll see what I can do; maybe I'm going to adjust some of the other date/period strings for the next release, too.

My thought was "Wed" instead of "Wednesday" & "Nov" instead of "November" to shorten it down quite a bit if that's possible?

I have also started looking at the DetailsPopup.xml & discovered I have the same problem with the "@sourceLongPeriod" string as well so if you could do the same to it as well that would be great.

I am now onto the actual TVListings skin & I have been requested to do it with
<!-- whether to colorize scheduled recordings or not (true/false) --> set to true.

I assumed the following items

<!-- status colors to colorize the programmes; only use solid colors here -->
<Color name="InProgress" color="Red"/>
<Color name="Completed" color="DarkGreen"/>
<Color name="Conflict" color="DarkOrange"/>
<Color name="Pending" color="DarkRed"/>
<Color name="CompletedWithError" color="Yellow"/>

were what set the colours for this but changing them seems to have no affect?

I would also like to have the description displayed without the subheader because I display the subheader in the title & don't see any need to display it twice, is that possible?

Hi,

the recording status colorization is already fixed for the next release.

The text that is displayed in the description always contains the subtitle. I won't change that, as the same parameter is used by the details popup.

Regarding the period parameters, I've added "@abbrPeriod" and "@sourceAbbrPeriod" for the next release that contain the suggested abbrevations for the month and day of week names.

I am also having problems with the display of colourisation the timeline as you can see from the three pictures attached, I wonder if it has something to do with selecting 120 minutes with 30 minute skips for the guide layout?

Hi,

I think this looks like a problem in your skin file, maybe the width of the "@statusHighlighting" image doesn't match the width of the guide. I tried to reproduce the behaviour shown in the cropped screenshots, using the default skin with "ListingsMinutes" set to "120" and "ScrollMinutes" set to "30", but it seems that everything works as expected here.

Yes you are right that was what was causing it to act odd like that but after setting it back to the same size I remembered why I tried altering it, if you look at the attached image you will see it displays a lot wider than the actual timeslot that is set to record??

Hi,

the wider timeslot displayed by the timeline graphics should represent the post-padding of the recording.

Yep that will be it, thanks for the explanation.
