I'm not sure what the problem is here, but almost every day I run into failed recordings on my HDHR. No errors appear in the log but on the recordings screen I'm presented with the following error:
*** No errors, but no data delivered. This is usually because the device failed to lock a signal.

However, if I restart the recording service the HDHR seems to work fine... I can watch live TV without issue, perform multiple recordings, whatever... the HDHR works until the next day. Incidentally my HD-PVR continues to record fine however even if the HDHR recordings are failing.

For instance last night, noticing that my two UFC recordings had failed at 6 and 7pm, I restarted the service just before 9 pm. The next two HDHR recordings, The Cape at 9 pm and another UFC at 1 am worked fine however come this morning 2 "Boy Meets World" recordings failed again with the same error. It doesn't appear to be channel related because all the channels record fine right after I restart the service. I'm actually starting to think it might be post-EPG update recordings that fail but I'm not sure.

Any thoughts? I've attached both the last two logs though since I don't see an error in there I'm not sure if they'll help.

Thanks,
Tim

yeah, I see what you mean... when it goes to do the "Boy Meets World" recordings at 6:59am, it really doesn't do anything. it says it's going to do the recording, and even thinks it did, but never does anything with the tuner. yet when it stopped the previous HDHR recordings, everything looked ok to me. Does it always happen after the nightly epg update?

Actually, thats usually what a multi-record looks like. ie, it doesnt need to hook up a new graph etc so you dont see the filters and stuff listed in the logs.

except there was no graph already running, or at least there shouldn't have been. so perhaps that's the problem.

I havnt looked at the log (doing day job stuff at the moment), but if there isnt a graph running, then that is likely to be the problem.

ok, we'll let you do your day job.

but yeah, his last graph on the HDHR terminated at 2:00am when UFC finished recording. it does look like he's got the option set that leaves the HDHR graphs built, since the successful 1:00am recording of UFC shows it tuning, but not building a graph.

the "Boy Meets World" recordings don't even show tuning - I'm pretty sure "Boy Meets World" isn't on the same channel as UFC.

wtg, do you have "Keep digital graphs constructed" ticked on the Misc tab?

I must be off my game... you bet me to it again. Big Grin

Anyway, wtg - try turning that setting off.

Yes I do. I wondered if turning that off might be a solution but thought I'd wait and see what you suggested.
