The 6981 is one of the samples they supplied me, and it seems to work fine with scanning our DVB-S2 signals. I haven't used it much though, since out S2 signals are all encrypted with a system I have no smartcard for. I'm guessing it'll work fine for DVB-S2 FTA content.

I went with a couple of 4400s in the end, but that was before these TBS cards were confirmed as working with NPVR. They've been fine, apart from a weird datastream hiccup that affects them when you change a channel on one tuner while another is recording (even between DVB-S/T on the same tuner). Not the end of the world, but annoying none the less.

Anyone know if the TBS card work on win7 x64? Their site and the drive download looked ambiguous to me...

Yes, I use my 6981 in a Win7 x64 PC and it works fine.

I didn't have room for a PCIe S2 card as the external graphics card is too fat (fanless with big heatsink on the side), so got a TBS 8920 to run along side my HVR-4000 and it works perfectly. Win7 x64, DVB-S2 channels working fine.
