I have had a go at adding CI support for these devices, but I cant be sure it's working. I only have to CAM and smartcard for use on my DVB-C system, so I cant test this aspect of the TBS DVB-S CI.

Aha, no problem. Will be waiting until the autumn to upgrade my system. Will probably go for the TBS 6990 PCI-E DVB-S2 Dual Tuner Dual CI TV card IF this will work.

Pob Wrote:I posted on the TBS forums suggesting they should send a sample to Sub, and a moderator did reply promptly asking for the contact details so will have to wait and see if anything comes of it... Might be worth posting back on there to confirm they are working as a courtesy seeing as though they provided samples ??
Sub, are either of these likely to work with GBPVR? My Pinnacle 7010 card will only receive DVB-S and BBC HD has just switched to DVB-S2 so I've lost my HD channels :-( ?
Or would a WinTV-HVR-4000 work with GBPVR?

Thanks Sub.
I've noted somewhere else a comment that said you can only use one input at once with the WinTV-HVR-4000. Do you happen to know if this is a multi tuner like the Pinacle (i.e. you can record multiple inputs at once) or is it a single tuner with multiple connections (i.e. it can only function from one input at a time)?

The HVR-4000 only supports one input at a time. Physically it two tuners, one capable of DVB-S/S2, the other capable of DVB-T/Analog, but the drivers only make one of the two tuners available at one time.

Hi Pob,
It looks as though we are going down the same hardware route once again, as we did with the S-350. Do you still have a gbpvr build and did you get the card working in gbpvr? I still have an MVP so have not looked into NPVR yet.

Quote:Why? NPVR does support the MVP.Hmm, I must admit that I have not been paying attention, but I seem to remember Sub saying in the early days of the changeover that he was looking forward more towards NMT devices rather than supporting the old MVP so I ruled out NPVR. GBPVR has been working well for the family so I am resistant to change it unless there is major benefit. The fact that the only HD channel I can get now is ITV, after BBC went to DVB-S2, means that that time is fast approaching. We are moving house soon so that gives me a good opportunity to break everything and blame it on the move, it seems that one of these dual tuner cards and NPVR is the way to go. Thanks for the pointer Martin, anything else I should know about?
