Developers,

Just wanted to say thanks for developing this software. I've been using the Hauppage software for about a year now and have been waiting for something to come along that was better, and didn't cost 100 bucks or more. Well, I found the answer and was able to download and get it running without too much trouble.

NextPVR runs great on my Hauppage 2250 tuner card - 2 Analog and 2 Digital tuners.
NextPVR has no problems recording two programs at the same time.
Post processing is done using the 64 bit version of ffmpeg, and can convert .ts to .avi quickly using 2 of the 6 cores on the processor.
I was unable, to this point, to get Comclean working. It seems Comskip works fine, but I've tried 3 versions of Comclean, and none would work for me, and after 6 hours or so I've given up.

Just being able to automatically convert these files to .avi has been a great help, so I'm a happy camper.

Thanks again, and after I become a regular user of the product, I do plan to donate.

4 Documentation

Windows 7 64 bit
4 Gigs of Mem
1TB HD
AMD 1090T 6 Core @3.2ghz
NextPVR runs great. GUI runs a little slow using the X/Y axis indicator Smile Use the left/right arrows to help speed up the menus.
ffmpeg 64 bit version. <Understand there are deminishing returns on the "-thread" switch> -thread 4 is about the best my AMD system will do (6 core). Increasing the thread count will use more processor thus more cores, but with only small gains in time.
Hauppage 2250 PCI Express
Recording is done mainly Clear QAM. Most Channels on Comcast in USA are encrypted, so I only have about 12 or so chanels to chose from. ABC, NBC, CBS etc.

Extras: I also use Hulu+, NetFlix and Playon.tv. Between the 3 of those guys, I get 90% of my viewing content, and the remaining 10% comes from the TV tuner card. Right now I have 4 programs scheduled to run weekly.
Bottom Line: I hate commercials, and will do all of the above to avoid wasting my time watching them.
The Plan: To stop paying for cable TV. Use the internet and basic cable (free) to view everything I need. Total savings would be around a thousand dollars a year if I could get rid of all the channels I don't watch.

Thanks for reading.

davidc502 I am not sure if you noticed, but I have an NPVR plugin called Universe that integrates PlayOn. http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.Universe You might might want to give it a look.
