Dual Tuner/Channels Problems

I haven't setup dual tuners since GB-PVR. I'm trying now with a pair of HD-PVRs.

I have both setup and channels set to the same EPG source and every single channel is duplicated in my guide.

GB-PVR "merged" channels from two sources and simple choose a device that wasn't busy when one was selected.

I doubt NPVR has gone backwards in this regard, so I must be doing something wrong. Help!

Usually when you setup the second of device in NPVR, and the other already has channels, it'll ask you if you want to copy the setup from the other device. If you choose 'yes' then you'll end up with two devices and the one set of channels. If you choose 'no' then you'll manually setup that second device, and will get a duplicate set of channels (which some people prefer). I've never explicitly tested this on an HDPVR though, since I've only got one.

On the Settings->Channels screen you can right click on two channels and select 'merge' though.

Thanks for the quick reply. It definitely didn't offer to copy settings from my other HD-PVR. I may have entered "no" anyway since I use two different exe's to change channels on my STBs.

The manually merging seems to fix it, but I'm in the process of doing that with 135 channels. Happy to report that, in limited testing, dual HD-PVRs seem to work well. Once I get all the channels mapped I'll be seeing how the duals work with my clients.

In the future, it might be nice to have a button or option to "Automatically Merge Identical Channels." I'll now be backing up my db more than ever in the meantime :-D

I've found the cause of this and fixed this for the next release. After selecting 'yes' to copy the configuration, you can then go in an change the exe changer.
