The next beta update to Music Box4 is now available on the wiki. http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?....MusicBox4 It requires version 2.1.4 of NPVR and uses sub added to improve MB4.

New features

- Search and save Album Art (folder.jpg) from musicbrainz.org,
discorg.com and last.fm from the track dialog (on track)
- Pause icon on Jukebox views
- Other plugins can start MB4 in Random mode
- Play can now be used to add to Playlists while music is playing.
- If found, the Jukebox views will display the ID3 track artist
instead of the album artist

ML3 Additions

- Added ability to use File System Watchers to drastically reduce the
need for scanning. Does require some PC resources but it was something I used
- Do database updates scan from Options popup.
- Show correct running time on NMT

Changes
- fixed database import from ML3
- update scan is not just on date but will also update if file not in database
- misc bug fixes (probably a few added).

Note that this will be the last release that will try to stick to the ML3 database format. I encourage all ML2/ML3 users to upgrade now.

Finally thanks again to ACTCMS and Jaggy for their valuable comments and feedback. I encourage everyone to upload their feedback too, I may not always agree but I will always listen.

I *just* installed it, so all I can say is it works great, so I have no complaints, but haven't explored.

I have a couple of minor thoughts/suggestions, but I would live happily ever after if they were never implemented. They might be handy/fun:

- embed missing album artwork into the MP3s/M4as as they are found/played. Handy, because I could use a utility to do this, if the track is playing anyway and the art is already found anyway, might as well embed it on the fly if it can be done with minimal fuss and help me organize my library.

- I think almost all of my music also has embedded lyrics. Some way to display those while a track is playing might be fun.

@smajor both are good ideas for the future. Jaggy has suggested I think about adding some id3v2 tagging functionality, but I have been reluctant because of the testing required before I place it into the wild. Maybe over time with a few more people willing to share the risk I can do it.

+1

Thanks for the option to download missing album art, Thats slick!

Would it be possible to add the ability to use visible="@controlSelected" in a skin?

I'm getting crashes when I click on the compilation menu option. I'm not sure I have it set up correctly. Attached is a sceen shot of the MB plugin collection screen.

Also attached is the npvr log file.

I'm running winxp sp3 with nvpr 2.1.4 and MB 9.2 beta.

I will try, but but only will add it if there is no performance penalty.

Do you have Do not Expand as your Display option?
