My operating systems crashed (Vista 64 with GB-PVR). Since I was not able to restore the system, I took the opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 and nPVR. I got everything working and would now like to import almost 2TB of recordings into the nPVR. Although I can't execute the old system, I can read the data from the drives.

I found the Import Recording function but I do not know where to find the xml file from the old GB-PVR system. How do I go about importing these recordings?

The old xml file will be in the program files\devnz\gbpvr directory called recording-dump.xml

There will be some dated ones as well.

Thank You very much for confirming the recording-dump.xml file. I originally tried this file but received a mysterious error message when importing. The error was:

Unexpected error importing recordings (C:\Windows.old\Program Files(x86)\Devnz\GBPVR\recording-dump.xml): System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Length cannot be less than zero.
Parameter name: Length
at System.String.InternalSubStringWithChecks(Int32 startIndex, Int32 Length, Boolean fAlwaysCopy)
at NShared.ExportImport.ImportRecordings(String filename, Boolean showMessageBoxes)

After your confirmation, I went back and took a closer look at the file. I found what appeared to corrupted recoding entries scattered throughout the file. Each of these corrupted records contained invalid filenames (name but no file path) for the recordings . Some of these also had start times AFTER the end time. I suspected that these backward times were causing the “Length cannot be less than zero” error.

To resolve this, I edited the files to remove the corrupted entries. Then I tried to import again. Success!
