First of all thank you for this update. Quite a few nice things in it Big Grin

I have now two separate observations of a recording not stopping on a HDHR. Sad

First time, i thought it was related to the fact that I had not rebooted after upgrading. But today it happened again. I have not had this problem in the previous versions.

Logs attached.

The first issue is in the first logset, regarding the recording from this Monday of "Kyst til kyst - Sydsjællands kyster -_20110704_20002100.ts" The attached png is the error when trying to initially fix it by activating "Restart Recording Service" from the tray icon.

The second is from this evenings recording of "Liebhaverne_20110706_20002035.ts". There was no such error this time when restarting recording service. But the Device status screen apparently froze even if the recording service seemed to be restarted.

Note: I might have to downgrade to previous version temporarily tomorrow due to vacation, unless you have a bleeding edge fix for me to test. Otherwise, I'll be back in a good weeks time.

Unfortunately I cant see any obvious sign of problems around those recordings in your logs, and cant think of any changes in 2.1.4 that could have caused this.

I get that cannot be controlled message whenever the MVP servers aren't stopped when the recording service starts. It is most common on an upgrade as occurred in your first logs. By habit when upgrading I stop the recording service and manually kill any NextPVR.exe and NTray.exe processes that are running (with show processes from all users in task manager)

Hi Martin.

Yes - I do exactly the same, including this upgrade: Stopped the recordng service from the service manager and killed the rest from task manager. The Restart attempt was a couple of days after, when the first recording would not stop...

The failure I saw was on the upgrade not days later, you can see the database updates.

I had a recording from last night not stop. Just noticed it this evening. When I restarted the recording service from the tray icon (while another recording was also in progress) I got the same error as above, but the recording in progress did restart.

Logs attached.
What, me worry?

Do you remember what the recording was called in that log?

When they dont stop, what exactly happens? Does the file keep growing, or something else?

Men of a Certain Age is the one that did not stop

Yes, it keeps growing. The recording was at 21 hours when I restarted the recording service.

That recording, Men of a certain age, is one that could have started with padding on another tuner, but did not. It started on the same tuner as baseball, which ended at 10pm, but had 90 mins post padding. Baseball showed as still recording until 11:30 even though the tuner had switched to Men at 10pm.

Can you check if it always happens in this scenario.
