that was quick (after LAV .46 was released) - thanks!
I as tempted to try and extract PDVD12 from the latest trail. Is this on your to-do list at all for the near future?

Hi.
Yes, but there is not much reasons to do it yet, it will only bring new problems due to the PDVD 11=>12 CLSID change.
I am not sure if MePo already support PDVD12...

EDIT:
He, i was thinking, that i was posted it on MediaPortal forum Smile

I gather from another thread that PDVD12 makes UK H264 HD broadcast content play back much nicer than PDVD11. For me PDVD11 is unusable - it gets a particular frame stuck that keeps flashing back for ages (over a few mins of playback). I assume this is due to defects in the broadcast. The MS decoder doesn't do this and plays back much smoother however is awful at skipping. I really need an H264 decoder that works on UK HD broadcasts and also skips fine...

I will add PDVD12 decoder as soon as possible (i am little of out time right now).

Actually to be pedantic, Reddwarf said "H264 content" played back fine with PDVD12, not "UK Freeview H264 content" (He is in Norway) so PDVD12 may not solve your current problem.

I definitely used to have exactly the same experience as you described above when I first got my HD tuner about 15months ago. However having recently tested it extensively, I honestly now cannot make PDVD11 go wrong for me with any of my Freeview HD recordings. This is whilst using LAV for audio but also I tried with divx audio codec as well. I rewired my aerial socket and upgraded to decent aerial leads and a better aerial splitter (T instead of Y) to try and improve the quality of the signal. I think that this has helped eliminate hiccups and may be why I no longer see the problem. Hard to be sure really.

Is it possible that you have a problem with signal quality/breakup that trips PDVD11 up (this is the likely cause if it always sticks in the same place on a recording)?

I'm using Freesat HD not freeview if that makes a difference... I'll check the signal quality. I've not noticed a problem with other H264 content playback with the PDVD11 codecs, just broadcast stuff. So maybe PDVD12 will make no difference. For sure the MS decoder doesn't suffer the same problems, it's just fairly bad at skipping. I didn't get a chance to try the PDVD12 codec last night as the wife was watching telly. I'll give it a go sometime soon.

had a lot of problems with decoders since I pick up a variety of signals including .h264 and mpeg. SAF6 sorted everything out for me with a little setting. many thanks.

try downloading the beta of TS doctor and running the recording though that to see if it detects and fixes any problems in the TS and whether this helps.
