Auto-merge channels

Has anyone managed to get this working?

I have four tuners, 2x DVB-T and 2x DVB-S2. There are many instances of the same channel being available across all four of them.

However, when I try to apply the auto-merge, NPVR pops up a dialog that seems to suggest it's detected candidates for merging, eg:

"Channel 4 has two matches"

But no merge actually takes place. Both the bulk mapping and channels screens continue to show two separate entries for Channel 4 (and all of the others).

Merging them manually works fine though. There's also doesn't appear to be anything in the logs about it.

Can you zip and attach your database so I can try it here?

Note, it can only auto-merge when channels have exactly the same name.

Attached. Some of them have been merged, but there's still a few that I've left alone, for instance CITV, CBeebies, and CBBC Channel.

Other info that might help... two of the tuners are still disabled, but at least one of each type (-T, -S) is active. There's also an old Nova-T attached but it has no channels and isn't used at all.

Hi,

Just a question about auto-merge.

I have a analogue hauppauge pvr-150 and a dvb-c technisat. I have most channels on both, so they both appear in tv guide.
If I want to plan a recording, I have to choose which tuner recordes by chosing one or the other channel (analog/digital).
Does auto-merge make me see only 1 instead of 2 (identical) channels in tv guide? And does npvr (as in config) itself chooses which tuner records?
If so, is it okay that 1 tuner is analogue and 1 is digital?

I works fine for me - one PVR150 grabbing from an STB a dual DVB-T tuner and a DVB-S tuner all having some channels in common and merged.
