I'm new to NPVR, I've got v2.1.5 on Windows XPSP3 and it works fine with both viewing and recording thru a HVR-950 tuner.

I just added a HD HomeRun HDHR3-US dual tuner to add the clear QAM channels, but I'm having problems it. I've read everything I can find here on the HDHR and tied all the suggestions, but I can't get the channels to correctly scan into NPVR. I've done multiple scans with every conceivable combination, but no luck. All NPVR finds are 2 channels, 104.2 & 114.11. (The HR setup finds 22 local clear QAM channels)

I've tried all the various program options in the HDHR setup program from BeyondTV to XBMC media center and still only get the 2 channels. I've attached the logs from the last scan using the "other:ATSC/QAM" setting in the HDHR setup program.

I'm at a total loss at this point... can someone please help steer me in the right direction?

Have you checked the firewall or any other security software?

no, it's not the firewall. he is finding channels, but they all come up encrypted. if it were a firewall issue, you'd see it locking on channels but receiving no data. that's the first thing I checked when I saw his logs.

@snagglewest: you might try scanning with some of the other application options in the hdhr driver; while setting to Other seems to be the most frequent solution, I'm pretty sure I saw at least one person saying it worked better for them set to "Mediaportal", and perhaps even someone who said it actually did work set to GB-PVR.

I should have mentioned in the first post, I shut down the firewall and the anti-virus and I still get the same problem. I've also tried every application option in the HDHR setup too. The HDHR program finds the channels and I can view them in both QuickTV and VLC so I know the computer can display them.

I'm at a loss.

Maybe you need to select to scan HRC channel frequencies instead of the default frequencies.

Still no joy. I tried both the "HRC" and "all countries" setting to no avail.

Sorry, I dont know. There is no sign of any errors in your logs. The appears to be returning on the channels found on the frequencies that locked onto a signal.

perhaps you could tell us your cable provider and zip code so that we can look up your clearqam channel lineup at silicon dust?

The HR setup program finds 23 clear QAM channels and I can view them via the HR QuickTV & VLC so I know the tuner is capable of pulling in the channels. The HDHR and NPVR just aren't playing nice for some reason.

If you can find out what frequencies those channels are on, a good first step would be making sure those frequencies are those that NPVR is scanning.
