Dear all,

I wear my heart on my sleeve,

I am so pleased that the web pages that we have all worked so hard on have made it:

http://www.nextpvr.com/

good work and tally ho Big Grin

there is always more work to be done, but blimey steeb will rest in peace (or is that in a piece) knowing that this is really good work. You know who you are that helped make it happen!

looks great, really well done. I do have one observation about the screenshot that shows on the Home page - on my PC at least, it always starts with the Music Library shot that's half-faded because the top-menu is active. It's not the most attractive shot, and takes a good while to move to a nicer shot. I also notice there's no shot of the default TV Guide screen at all. May I suggest adding a shot of the TV Guide, and perhaps making that the first shot; alternately make the main menu shot the first one.

looks very nice !! - Well done indeed.

I did spend 2 mins looking at the community page wondering where the links were to the forum and wiki before I finally spotted them at the top of the page. Might be an idea to also make the words "forum" and "wiki" links as well.

I agree with johnsonx42, I think the screenshot sequence should prioritise the tv recording aspect of npvr over photo viewing. So I would suggest main menu, EPG, recordings, Live TV, live tv with epg overlay, videos, music, pictures plus some plugins to promote them to a wider audience.

Thanks for feedback so far all.

The main menu should now be the default loaded screenshot?

We'll look into adding an actual shot of the TV guide.

Ulimately I think we are hoping that both the forums and wiki will migrate to having the nextpvr.com URL (not actually losing any content! Forums exactly the same as they are with all content kept but just a URL change!) So at this point any links have not been put in as they, if this happened, would need editing again. But once everything is nailed down I would suspect that any textual mention of forum/wiki etc would be a link to the relevant item.

cheers

I noticed on the 'Download and Install' page that is said "NextPVR is currently in the beta stage of an active development schedule but is considered to be quite stable" but while updates are regular, I think it might be that the word 'beta' might make some feel less likely to try it.

Hi Paul, good spot Big Grin

Guess easiest to just remove the line entirely:

NextPVR is currently in the beta stage of an active development schedule but is considered to be quite stable.

Yep, I'd have to agree. I thought exactly the same thing.
