Hi all . I am running WIn7 64Bit. I try to install .net 2.0 redist and I get a forced setup exit. Basically the installer sees that I am running the 64 bit OS and will not install .net 2.0

I am simply running through the pre-reqs. My machine is current enoguh (dual core unlcoked sempron 140, 4 GB ram). Should I insall .net 4.0?
I have tried to search the forums, but I think somehting is wrong with my search. I could not find any hits using the phrase .net

Thanks in advance
Tony

Install .NET 3.5. It includes .NET 2.0.

I think Win7 should already include .NET 3.5 and 2.0, maybe your Win7 installation is messed up?

no - it did include the 3.5. You probably updated at the same time I did. Thanks for the heads up. I keep getting a "The Module "NPVRCCDump.ax" failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at te specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent DLL files. THe spciefied module cannot be found" when I try to re-register filters.

I get a bunch of them, one for each line in the batch fiule.
THe batch file contains
regsvr32 NPVRCCDump.ax
regsvr32 NPVRPESCollector.ax
regsvr32 NPVRTSMon.ax
regsvr32 NPVRWriter.ax
regsvr32 NPVRTSReader.ax
regsvr32 NPVRMP3Reader.ax

I am playing with things I dont understand right now. When I try to watch live tv, the system just hangs. I am trying to find log files, but I am pretty lost in the bowels of Win 7. Win7 is better, but I was better with XP

That looks like a UAC problem. Use RunAs Administrator when running the ReRegister.bat file

THanks again for the advice. I tried that and still get the error.
I attempted live TV and found in the log files that my buffer directory did not exist. So I changed it to my desktop (just for now). Live tv works (video anyway!).
Channel changer works too. SO it looks like my audio decoder is not set correctly.

This usually means you haven't installed the vcredist.
