Male geek here, but I don't follow why female members wouldn't be geeks. Wouldn't a non-geek have a prefab set-top box?
Based on the way I've seen women (or more likely, overweight 40 year old pervs pretending to be women) received in other geek hangouts, I wouldn't blame actual women for not identifying themselves as such. It can get ugly. This place seems fairly mature and chill, but still.

I'v nothing against geekettes or women in general. I just came to think of the matter after looking at a lot of signatures in here, some say absolutely nothing about it's owner, but most of them hints a male owner. Very few signals a female owner, so I wish we had more of them...
