Updated to 2.2.6, no audio in HD-PVR. Checked the device setup and SPDIF is selected (my audio source). For fun, tried to toggle the settings to component. Settings will not stick in either direction; suspect this may have something to do with it.

Logs attached.

[EDIT] found <ForceSPDIF>false</ForceSPDIF> in my Config.xml under the HDPVR. Setting that to true fixed my audio issue. I suspect it may not be needed at all anymore in 2.2.6, but with wife and kids wanted the TV so I didn't have time to test that theory. Smile

Same problem here. I noticed this once yesterday and wasn't sure what happened. Restarted my cable box and reset my HDPVR - configured for optical audio pass-through to my receiver - and the sound came back. Then last night while working with NPVR I noticed the sound "went out" on my cable box again. Restarting the stb and the HDPVR didn't help. Noticed my recording had no audio. Started to think the STB was going out but saw this post. Opening ArcSoft's Total Media Extreme - the only way I know to get to the HDPVR's audio settings - and the audio immediately restarted.

Something appears to be putting the HDPVR's audio in a bad state.

Sub, this continues to be a problem for me.

I have my unit setup for pass-through audio and video so that we can both watch TV via our STB and record from it. After a recording on the HD-PVR last night something was messed up with the unit and pass-through optical audio was lost. I had to open Total Media Extreme and act as if I was going to record something to reset the HDPVR and get audio back to the TV. I only noticed this behavior following the installation of 2.2.6.

Do you find <ForceSPDIF>false</ForceSPDIF> in your confix.xml for npvr? If so, try changing the false to true - worked for me.

Yes, mine is set false but it was set that way previously too.

I'll set mine to true and see how it goes, but I was hoping sub would respond if only to make sure he's aware that there was probably an unintended change in this release.

Agreed, I'd like to know if we need that in there anymore since you can now specify the audio source with the GUI. I haven't had time to totally remove it and see what happens.

Can one of you guys try creating a new channel, and see if that gives audio when you start live tv on it from the TV Guide?

I'll do this tonight. Got home late last night and TV was busy and then forgot by the end of the evening.

I created two new channels for good measure and neither produced any different result. No sound at all and the device pass-through audio stops too. However, as smajor suggested, setting forcespif = true solved the problem.

Also HD-PVR related, a recording I did today never ended. While it showed that it terminated correctly and the device record light was off, the file was growing hours later, at 54 GB when I finally restarted the service. Log available if you're interested.

I've seen that too: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ting-Stuck

I admit, I haven't seen it since my initial post and the wife and kids have been beating the heck out of the Recording Service lately. Big Grin
