It's easy to change params of hdpvr without having TME even installed!
when i got an optical cable, i didn't want to have to install TME just to change the audio input, so i opened the filters in graphedit to see what was actually changeable..
And turns out, lots in there to play with...[compression settings, filters, etc]
Seems like they all stick when set this way too...
[This should also work for *any* tuner, including Colossus]
Anyways, to change audio inputs to optical:
download and open graphedit...
insert Hauppauge HD PVR Crossbar filter.
double click the filter, should look like pic below...
on right side, select 'video decoder out' and change to 'audio decoder out'.
on left side, change to the audio selection you desire, hit apply..
change right side from audio to video and back to make sure it stays..
notice the 'Current input' and 'Related pin', they should show how you want it to be set..[ignore what it says when 'video decoder out' is selected on right side]
as long as when audio is selected on right, the left side info show s correct it's all good..
Done!
now go play with encoder settings if you want to[HD PVR Encoder filter]...i just disabled all filters..mostly they just clean up snow w/by-product of blurring pic..
[note: all bitrate settings get overwritten by npvr when recording, so no use changing those]
