I have a remote controlled antenna rotator.

Does anyone have a way to trigger an irblaster when a ATSC channel is selected?

Thanks for any ideas!

hmmm, parallelprocessing.bat? check for channel num. then irblast when it is atsc channel...
i assume it takes a sec for it to move, so may get garbage at beginning of recording tilll it moves..
AFAIK no way to pre-change before recording starts..

You can also create a PreRecording.bat.

This wont be called for live tv though.

i'm also thinking that using a script for irblaster executable would do the trick for livetv too...Smile
instead of putting your regular executable in as blaster exe. instead choose a batch file and put in the batch file your regular .exe commands,
and add the cmds for the rotator also...[of course with logic to only use it when certain channels are selected]
[tho probably put the rotator cmds first]
if you need help with the batch cmds, let us know..several examples on wiki

I've been looking into the comskip batch examples as to how to skip and process channels.

From it I gather %2 would be the channel number passed for the PreRecording.bat.

Not much info on the prerecording.bat to be found.

Got sidetracked last night, 5 hour (round trip) for Stone Temple Pilots concert during which a we had a 5.3 or 5.6 earthquake depending on the reporting station you look at.

Thanks for the hints.

Yes %2.

You can get a lot of damage from a quake that size if you're unluckly with it's exactly location and depth.

ah, i saw that while watching a football postgame show.. didn't get much news coverage tho..they said no major injuries so that's good..Smile

yea, i think preprocessing.bat needs to be added to wiki still..
I was wondering how 'pre' it is [delay, or waits till pre .bat is finished? max wait time?]
might be useful to get my cap resolution changed for hdpvr before capture starts..

That would be tricky, your bat file would need to tune (if pre is before tuning), start the graph and stop the graph. Changing resolution is why I have asked sub for an option to fully tune HDPVR's twice. 'Til then I am sticking with the fixed output rate from the STB.

yea, almost all mine is hi res already, and will probably just start using net capture plugin to get the sd from another machine..Smile [just bbca]
but it doesn't really bother me since it's only 1 channel that needs it..
as it is, i have 1080i and 480i selected so hd stuff is 1080i,sd gets 480i..
[sd just seems to look better at 480i]

just got a foxconn mini E350/ati6310 machine and enjoying playing with it..[bargain at only 174$ on newegg]
finally figured out how to get post processing on it smoothly accelerated....Smile

Bluetick - did you get a prerecording script working?

Looking for advice as I seem to have gotten stuck... I've set up eventghost to turn my rotor, have a prerecording bat to call the eventghost event, but for some reason when the bat file is called it's not executing. Even my simple test bat file isn't firing eventghost:

---

@echo off
Rem Prerecording.bat
Rem %1 is the fully qualified name of the recorded mpeg file.
Rem %2 is the channel number of the recording
echo PreRecording.bat invoked on "%1" recorded from channel "%2" >>prerecording.log
echo PreRecording.bat invoked at this time %date% - %time%. >>prerecording.log

"C:\Program Files\EventGhost\EventGhost.exe" -e 107

---

I can run the bat file succesfully from the \scripts folder (and it will properly execute eventghost).

nrecord logs show NPVR appropriately calls prerecording.bat 1 minute before recording starts.

I've tried messing around with permissions as well as trying to change the active directory in the bat file - but haven't had any luck, and admit I'm now at a loss on how to get this script working.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
