OK folks,

I was having issues with EPG data(which has been working very well over a year), switched to Schedules Direct.. and that proved not to work either. Something clearly got wedged in my setup, not sure what. No EPG data at all. No change in hardware or software.

I did a NPVR uninstall, and reinstalled, applied patches.

Then I went to Device Setup, and Scanned my tuner(HDHR) for QAM channels. The scanner finds ALL the same channels it did before....no issues or differences are apparent here. But here is the major problem. After selecting OK in the Digital Channel Setup window to confirm all the channels that were found (and checked), nothing gets imported into the device channels dialogue. It is completely blank just as before the scan. The net is, none of my channels are known. If I can get the channels to import that were scanned, I suspect the EPG issues will go away too. Again, the Digital Scanner Setup finds all my channels, they are checked....but selecting "OK" on this step does nothing with the channels...they are gone.

Any idea of what could be wrong here? What I can try next?

Reproduce this problem, then zip and attach the npvr.log and I'll take a look.

Hello fellow southern california NPVR user! Your log doesn't show anything after the scan completed. Did you check the channels you want to keep and then hit OK to exit the scan screen?

Yes, absolutely checked boxes, and tried it many times with restarts of npvr as well as reboots.
anything I can try?

Are you sure you did before zipping up that log file? The log file doesnt show any activity after the scan, like you didnt get as far as hitting ok.

Hello Sub and Johnsohnx42. I scanned multiple times....each failing to populate the setup window after I hit OK with channels selected. I zipped up after multiple attempts that all failed. In order to zip up the log file I had to shutdown the NPVR recording process, as the log file was locked by it. But I know of no other way. It is not an alien process to me, as I have done this so many times before everytime the channel lineup of Cox changes.

Something be wedged! Now when I ran the uninstall program for NPVR, it did NOT remove the Application Data/NPVR information in Documents and Settings. Could it be that I need to manually blow away all this state/information in NPVR Application Data in order to truly uninstall and reinstall NPVR?

For grins and giggles I am attaching yet another log file after yet another cycle of scanning and not populating, then stopping NPVR service.
Again, any help greatly appreciated on how to get out of this mess!

It's kind of confusing, but previously mapped channels won't show up in a QAM scan, maybe you just need to map the channels again and change the guide data from DVB/ATSC?

Hello Martin... I have deleted every single channel that were previously mapped. There are no channels known by NPVR right now...and I am trying to scan them as if for the first time. I am trying to delete the Applications Data for NPVR...next. Hope this is a good idea? Any others?

Yeah try deleting you npvr.db3 file, and scanning again.
