@paf077: Mine is a Microsoft MCE Blaster. Hauppague is listed but apparently it only receives and doesn't transmit. Sorry I don't have much info on it.

@arkennedy75: -channel {channel} -delay 500 -host localhost -port Port_1 should work.

@steeb: I might just do that when I have some free time.

@ BTJustice, absolutely, time is that essential thing Wink

But should you ever feel in the mood post for a wiki account

this really is a most excellent thread that deserves an historical NextPVR wiki page as recently a lot has been asked about blasters and your thread does IRSS very very well. This thread will become harder to find with time, but on the wiki easy Wink

I'm not hassling in any way, totally understand time constraints on all our lives (after all this is a hobby) but should you decide to give it a go full wiki support given Big Grin

cheers

I have the wiki page typed up, but I am a wiki publishing noob, lol. How do I create a page and upload the document to that page?

I have the HD H24 receiver from Directv and it works with the IRSS software.

The only change I made from your settings was adding "-port Port_1" to the command line.

Hauppauge USB MCE 2 blaster port beanbag.

Thanks for your postings, I had fought this off and on for a bit. =)

Are you using both ports? I could only consistently use port 2 with the test and only with Win7 and not WinXP. Which Windows do you have?

Is there anywhere I can download IRSS without joining the MediaPortal Forum. Google not helping this time!

For the last 3-4 years I have been using LM Remote key-mapping with MCE Remote - which was very good. Unfortunately it has not been updated for 2 years and for the last 6 months or so has become unstable - Probably a dot-net update or dot-net 4 issue. Having just reinstalled Vista and still having problems I am now looking for an alternative, but would rather not have to join another forum just for one small download.

I do not require blasting capabilities at the moment but controlling multiple media applications via key board mapping is a must to keep SWMBO happy

Hi Lao Pan,

I think the short answer is probably no! I am a great fan of IRSS personally but am a member of MP forum simply for that purpose. The releases get posted there, google will probably not be your friend on that one. I toyed with the idea in the past of asking IRSS peeps whether they would make it more available outside of the MP forum but decided it was not worth the effort!

cheers

Thanks Steeb
Yep All Googles lead either to GBPVR / NPVR links to MediaPortal or MediaPortal direct.
Finally solved the latest Remote problem - trashed MCE drivers resulting in several buttons (including back) not sending any messages on
Uninstalling Drivers in Device Manager and a reboot fixed that but wot an ass to find!

I will give LM Remote a final written warning and hope it behaves - it is so easy to set up & I like the Beyond TV style Volume Indicator Big Grin
Otherwise it is off to MediaPortal Land -- Only for IRSS I hasten to say.

Hi Lao Pan,

yeh suspected google would not be your friend on this....

All roads lead to IRSS on MP. Not a bad forum in order to get your hands on IRSS but nothing quite as friendly as NextPVR forum Wink

Thing is I banked with IRSS years ago when it was much more configurable but recently it has drifted much more to be MP based?

So are you on XP still? Or with Win7?

Have not tried LM Remote before because am stuck in old ways and once I found IRSS it was so easy to configure etc....

cheers steeb

@ BTJustice did you get this sorted? I feel so remiss. For some reason (probably screaming baby needing my undivided attention!) I missed your post here? If you still need some help can assist.

v best
