My wife recently made a purchase from an online site which offered a "Free Mystery Gift" as a thank-you for the first order. Sure enough a mystery gift was included in the package and the packing note even says "Mystery Gift, Qty: 1 Price 0.00".

The trouble is...it truly is a bloody mystery as neither of us has the slightest idea what it is. The white parts on the tight loop and the tips of the 'prongs' are plastic sleeving and the ends of the 'prongs' are slightly angled up. It's about 9 inches from end to end and about 5 inches between 'prongs'.

The company does all sorts of gadgets for kitchen, garden etc and I've been through pretty much the whole of the website and can't find anything like it.

Any ideas anyone?

My first thought seeing it is "That is perfect for getting kebabs off the grill". Other than that... mystery...

more seriously, maybe a handle for lifting something out of boiling water, like a large-mouth mason jar? Though at 5 inches between the prongs, that sounds too big even for that.

Why, I recognized that right off. What you have there is a left handed smoke shifter. Smile

We have two of those we use to lift large turkeys out of the roasting pan.
What, me worry?

Roy's the winner, I found two similar lifters when I searched "turkey lifter". The search also returned a picture of Arnold Schwarzenegger lifting weights.

Not sure about that yet - such a device would normally come in pairs...
