Is it possible to record a TV show based on the EPG description? For instance, I want to record any college basketball game Duke plays. I can do a series recording for “College Basketball” but it will record every “College Basketball” game regardless of who is playing. Is it possible to add an additional parameter to only record if “Duke” is in the description? Thank you.

You can probably do a manual record, set the type to 'Daily', and set the Advanced Rules to something like:

title = 'College Basketball' and description like '%Duke%'

I have a similar question - Channel FOUR is showing Battlestar Galactica on a weekly basis, but the EPG title has for each episode on the same time each week, BattleStar Galactica (Part One), Battlestar Galactica (Part Two), etc.

I am thinking that the auto recording is not going to pick up each weekly episode because the title is not exactly the same.

Does this mean I have to set up a manual recording with some advanced rules? say: title like 'Battlestar Galactica'

If they're appending stuff to the titles, you can create an advanced rule with something like:

title like 'Battlestar Galactica%'

Or you can set the Recurring Match to "Match start of title" in Settings->Recordings.

Thanks Reddwarf - I see the % is a wildcard, just as will you showed me as I would have used * instead.
I like option 2, Cheers.

That was my first thought, but it doesnt help if that original recording is "Battlestar Galactica (Part One)", since the second one wont contain that full text.

Mmm, so you mean it won't give a match even if the first word is the same in both titles?

No - what if that word was 'The'. It's only considered a match if the begins with original name.
