Since upgrading to 2.3.6 I've been experiencing problems with my recordings. I'm using 2 Avermedia AVerTV TwinStar dual tuners on Windows 7 64bit. What seems to be happening is when I have recordings scheduled on all 4 tuners and there is a tuner change due to pre-padding, recordings start to fail.

In the logs(NRecord.log.1) attached, Doctor Who is the first show to start recording, Alcatraz is moved to a different tuner. Both of these complete successfully. Supernatural starts recording but stops when Doctor Who stops. They are both on different networks. According to NPVR Supernatural continued being recorded as scheduled but when the file is opened, it is only 11-12 minutes long.

The remaining recordings all fail resulting in 0 byte files and the signal failed to lock error message. The task bar icon was still red during recording and it said the tuners were recording their respective shows.

Trying to start recordings after that resulted in 0 byte files. After I restarted the recording service, I could manually record 4 separate networks via the TV guide successfully. I've attached the files in the logs directory.

Please let me know if any further information is required. Thanks for your help!

I cant see any definitive cause in those logs. Can you apply this patch and post logs again next time it happens? This version adds some additional logging.

Are you sure you applied that patch? I cant see the additional logging I expected.

Hi again, sorry about the trouble. I did apply the patch but found that it was blocked by windows when I looked at its properties. I reapplied the patch but I can't really tell if it worked this time. Followed the standard procedure(stop NPVR service, transfer file with elevated windows explorer, restart pc) so if it doesn't work again I might be missing a simple step somewhere? Checked and the file wasn't blocked this time though.

Anyhow I set up another bunch of recordings. Here are the logs. In this batch of recordings, Howie do it and The Marriage Ref were both cut short ending when earlier recordings ended and Happy Days failed completely. Please let me know if the patch fails and what I might be doing wrong in applying it.

Thanks again for your help!

What recording should I be looking at in those logs, and what happened?

I'm guessing you're started work on the next release or you're just about to start. Big Grin
