anyone know if the mce remote can wake win 7 from hibernate?

I can get it to wake from s3 sleep but not from hibernation.. S3 has SSD boot problems for me.

my mobo is h55m-usb3 from gigabytes.

thanks

Mine does. Both S3 and S4. Never tried S5, but it should work (in theory).

You'll probably have to check your motherboards settings. The usb port where your IR receiver is plugged needs power when in hibernate/shutdown (much like a ethernet port needs continuous power to receive a WOL call). By default motherboards do not provide power to usb ports when in hibernate/shutdown state. Some newer boards may have this setting in the BIOS setup, but I the majority (mine is 2/3 years old model) probably has it through jumper setting in the board itself.

Check your motherboard's manual.

You must also make sure that the IR receiver is (in Windows) allowed to wake the computer. Under System->Device Manager, open the properties for your IR receiver, and check the Power tab.

Edit: according to your motherboard's manual:
Code:
When the system is in S4/S5 mode, only the USB ports routed to the F_USB1 header can support the ON/OFF Charge function.
There you have it. Yours doesn't even give you a choice. =P Check which header you connected to USB1, and maybe switch that header with that of the ports. I saw no mention of power on support (or lack of it) for the backpanel usb ports.
