Just curious and looking for rough figures.

I only have 28 channels enabled for 4 identical DVB-T capture sources and use a single XMLTV file (no broadcast EPG data). Looking at recent logs, it takes anything from 50 seconds to 1 minute 10 seconds each morning for the npvr automatic EPG update to do it's thing.

Obviously other people have more complex setups with more channels, a mix of capture sources (terrestrial, satellite, cable etc) and possibly use a mix of XMLTV files and broadcast EPG data scans.

I'm just wondering what length of time it can take to perform a daily EPG update.

Cheers,
Brian

Mine takes about 20 minutes including downloading but I don't do it daily.

I think it's about 30s for all the Freesat stuff but closer to 6 minutes for Freeview. Both via broadcast captured by DVBGuide. Couple of seconds after that for NPVR to import the xmltv files.

I get 14 days of data for 170 channels - ~55k programs. It takes 7+ min for xmltv to download, plus ~3 min for I-xmltv to reformat, then another 7-10 min for nextpvr to parse the listings.

Using DVBGuide off the ITV freeview mux takes about 7-8 minutes to complete
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Mine is "lightning fast" (20 minutes max) nowadays since I switched to using webgrab+, but my old xmltv grabber procedure could take up to 2 or 3 hours. had instances of taking longer than that.

Just a small "head's up" regarding feature-length epg updates =P
