Overlapping recordings on the same Channel/Tuner

I haven't seen the issue raised before, if it has been, please ignore.

I have 3 digital tuners each is dedicated to one mux. Since upgrading to 2.3.6 I have noticed this issue which had not occurred previously.

Here is the scenario...
Recording 2 programmes consecutively on the same channel (same tuner) each show has my default 2 min pre-padding and 5 min post-padding
The first show stops recording 7 minutes after the second show starts
When watching the second show, at about the 7 minute mark, the video pauses for about 20 seconds, the audio continues to play normally
When playing the file with Media Player Classic, the pause in the video is much shorter but time-stamp jumps forward about 20 seconds then stays the same for 20 seconds then continues to advance

This behaviour is the same with all 3 tuners/muxes

It might just be your tuner hardware.

My two HVR-4400s cause a slight hiccup in the recording whenever a tune request is made on either the other card, or even the 2nd tuner on the same card. Makes it really annoying if someone was channel flicking rapidly while a recording was running.

you should always post your logs.

that said, this sounds like an issue that's been corrected by a patch update, a 20-second delay on graph-stop (patch #30). If you install the Pre-R2 rev 2b patch, plus patch 31, you should be good.

this fix is also in the next release of NPVR, which sub has said is coming soon.

I had the Pre-R2 rev 2a patch installed but had not noticed the 2b patch, 2b now installed.
A quick test this morning and the 20 second delay has become a small flicker, not perfect like I think it used to be but much less intrusive

the 20-second delay was introduced the original skip patches, so it all adds up. Glad that sorted it for you.
