It would be cool if you could have several machines in a network with TV cards recording shows to the server machine. Let each recording client set recording schedules but have the server prevent duplicates and show already scheduled recordings on the guide display.

I think this already exists. My understanding of the network tuner is minimal, so I will watch with interest.

There are a few way to do this with NetworkRecorder.

1) If your tuner on the remote PC can be controlled by an external program (ir blaster, firewire or command line tuner) the best solution is to install Sage Graph Recorder on the remote PC and let NextPVR control the second machine's graph. Creating a graph is not that hard and you can even use NextPVR's TS Writer to create a Timing.Info file.

2) If you need a tuner you can install NextPVR as a server and connect to the "client" machine from one machine configuring NetworkRecorder to use the NextPVR http interface. The limit her is the client machine's database is not linked with the host

3) If you want the client and host NextPVR to use the same database, you could use NextPVR to control DVBViewer, WMC or possibly SageTV on the client, together with NextPVR.

Martin.
