I believe that Mr GB may be away, so not expecting immediate response Big Grin

But steeb is on the path again...

I see no reason now to have anything other than:

NPVR Documentation

and GB-PVR Documentation

on the documention threads on the forum.

IMHO it is a mess.

There is a load of stuff that can be moved or lost.?

Sorry to be on warpath but it takes a***holes like me to shake this stuff up Wink

Hope all in UK have enjoyed the great weather, not sure what the weather is doing elsewhere globally, and should we all be worried? Is this standard global weather shift patterns or global warming!

cheers all

steeb

Thanks Martin, AKA Mr JJ Big Grin

but it has not slowly died off has it?

I remember the exact day that sub released NextPVR. Canadian GrandPrix 2010. That is along time ago...

I am not asking to split anything. But what do you see when you visit the doc threads?

What you as long time user of these pages sees? Or fresh user? You see what you are used to?

As I said, IMHO mucky, and could do with work Wink

But just my HO. Will wait, observe, and try to make changes if they are needed....

cheers

Don't we already have 'NPVR Documentation' and 'GB-PVR Documentation'? Or you asking for two top level forums - this would be overkill in opinion, since there is virtually no posts in them. I wish we'd just left it as 'documentation' since pretty much everything is NPVR now, with GBPVR related discussion having dried up now. If this was a path you wanted to go down, I could see if there is some vbulletin merge feature to recombine them.

You're the moderator of the documentation forum, and seem to rememeber at one stage you were intending to move posts to their appropriate places.

No

We could not leave it as documentation at the time, and still do not believe so as we had to mix GB-PVR with NextPVR. This was your choice.

No, I believe the path trodden was the best all round one that suited you and all members at the time as best as possible.

Indeed but I cannot go moving stuff without approval from members. I may appear to be a maverick but am not one really! I like to do things with common approval! Big Grin

cheers muchly

I'm pretty sure no one will mind if you move posts between the different documentation forums in an attempt to tidy up.

What I mean is, and maybe you by 2 top level forums mean this too, but I don't think so....?

Why do we need all the extraneous and confusing extras under?

There's 2 levels here.

NPVR Documentation and GB-PVR documentation.

Why title thread and starter under?

cheers

Set the Documentation forum so it's not possible to create new posts in it which would mean only new posts could be created in Documentation -> NPVR Documentation (for example).

These are sub-forums, not top level forums. Top-level forums are the main ones like 'support' and 'wishlist' etc. It wouldn't make sense to have two top level forums for Documentation.

I agree about not liking these sub forums in Documentation. They seems pointless. We should just merge them all to 'Documentation'.

There hasn't been a GBPVR release in nearly 3 years, and it hasn't be available for download for about 2 years, there is virtually no new posts about GBPVR now, and none of those in the Documentation forum, so I'd say just merge them together and assume all Documentation posts are about NextPVR. If some really wants GBPVR info, they'll just have to go look at the really old posts. I'm pretty sure there isn't much demand for this old stuff.
