Sub, is the EPGEvent data available to a tuning plugin? Specifically I want to block access to the device based on time but if the tuner is available at the starting time, there might be an assumption that is available for the entire period.

Sorry, no it doesnt. The app just makes its scheduling decisions based on the channel mappings and the other mappings already scheduled.

Ok, that's what I thought. What if it returns 0 to StartRecording() will NRecord move to another tuner when it isn't live TV or does the recording stop with the reason stored in the database?

It will try to make the recording on another tuner. This sort of strategy will likely lead to failed recordings though, since breaks the idea of the provisional allocation scheme done at scheduling time to ensure enough tuners are available for the requested recordings etc. ie, it relies on the configured tuners being available when it needs them.

Ok thanks, I am trying to get the logic right to implement this feature http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post434234 as safely as possible. It sounds like the NetworkRecorder for the Dreambox his wife uses should be the lowest priority tuner. I assume it still can be high for LiveTV though since the logic is in place to safely move up/down the list.
