what do people use these days if what they want is easy access to internet media with a 10-foot interface? I've got a client with a big monitor connected to a win7 PC in their waiting room, they want it to entertain clients waiting, and probably to watch themselves during lunch and after hours. I got the NBCOlympics site working through the browser, but after awhile the player would freeze and IE would have to be re-started. Then they asked me to put the CNN live feed on, and that worked fine. But going forward they'd like to have something they can access with a remote and select different content and live streams.
At home I've had some good results with PlayOn and Universe on NPVR, but NPVR and therefore Universe wouldn't be an option at a business location. Would I just use PlayOn with Windows Media Player 11 as a front end? Or some other solution? Ideas welcomed.
