Hello.

I have some problems with EPG update.

I have some idle tuners but NPVR doesn't use them to update EPG.
Instead, it stop all recordings, update the EPG and restart all recordings.

Is it supposed to work in this way?
Or I configure the wrong way?

Thank you!

It'll use whatever the first tuner is associated with that channel.

Just schedule the EPG update to occur at 4am or some other time you're unlikely to ever be recording.

But not everyone leave their PC on for 24/7. Leaving PC on at night just to update EPG might not be the best solution.

My recording time usually start from 6.55am to midnight 12.05am with some short breaks in between but not at an exact hour. Can I auto update EPG at hh:mm instead?

Free hour today might not be free hour on other days, so it might still affect some recordings.

Too bad it cannot make use of idle tuners to update EPG.
And it shall not stop a recording just to update EPG.

Or update EPG only if NPVR detects that the first tuner associated with that channel is not in use?

Sorry, that's just the way it works at this stage. Most people just have their machine go to sleep when not in-use, and windows will auto wake at 4am or similar to perform the EPG update, then it'll go back to sleep.

If you prefer to run it at a time of your choosing you can configure the EPG update time to 'never', then just manually run 'NextPVR.exe -updatepgonly' at the times you want it to update.

Ok, I think manual update will be the only option for me at the moment.

Thanks sub.
