I would like to get an NMT and think that the Popbox would make the best choice. Looks like all the previous Popcorn Hour units are quite old, then replacements just got much more expensive as well as not supported and this unit seems to fill the need.
Has there been any progress on getting this to work with NPVR? They look to be only $129US

thanks, Jake

Good timing on this question. A couple of days ago I was asking about how live streaming of mpeg files was working on the v8 these days. I gave up on the v8 a year or so ago, when I found that it was taking 20+ seconds to buffer which wasn't acceptable to me, but it is still a powerful box.

Personally I think the future of extenders is with XBMC (or a modified XBMC customized for NextPVR use) and Syabas aren't on the that train, they are sticking with Flash. Sigma (who makes the chip used in the Syabas boxes) were showcasing XBMC at IFA http://finance.yahoo.com/news/sigma-desi...00420.html and it uses a chip better than on the v8

Looks promising, albeit some time off in the future.

I remember XBMC organizing all of it's recordings by folder name of the recording. I think this is something that sub is going to implement. I never liked this method, since it makes it more difficult to browse the recordings folder for recording anomalies, etc.

If you are talk about the XBMC native libraries you can just browse libraries if you don't want to scan them. The plugin I am working on shows them as Failed too.

Wow, that looks very cool. It's a nice interface. One thing I like to see which I wouldn't expect for this on your screen is abandoned files on the HD as well as files that may have recorded, but for some reason didn't compress or were extremely large. You know just basic maintenance. If we have to go through each directory it will be a bigger chore. Guess we might not have a choice?

This particular view is based on NEWA which translates the NextPVR database tables into web services, however the actual files aren't scanned, nor is that information in the database. It might be something sub could add to his table. XBMC does display it in the native views.
