Sub, do you have a zip file of a Linux build? I built a machine with OpenElec this morning and was thinking about testing the NPVR addon. I don't know how to build on Linux though Sad

Attached.

I'm not sure how portable it'll be between different Linux distributions though. I've never had much luck moving Linux binaries between systems, and have usually had to resort to building from source.

This particular one was built on Ubuntu 11.04.

That sounds good. I will install XBMCBuntu and then try the plugin.

Is this the correct Linux package?

In copied your package, configured NPVR then enabled the PVR Manager. After I enabled the PVR Manager it reported in the log that it could not find XBMC_NextPVR.pvr. I looked in the pvr.nextpvr folder and noticed the file was named XBMC_NextPVR_win32.pvr. I closed XBMC, renamed the file and now when I open XBMC it gives a continuous error PVR Clients: NextPVR PVR Client add-on could not be loaded. An unknown error has occured.

Thanks

Those Win32 files are obviously not needed, but I found the actual addon file is in a different directory on Linux.

Those other files were from /usr/local/share/xbmc/addons/pvr.nextpvr

The addon itself was in /usr/local/lib/xbmc/addons/pvr.nextpvr

Zipped and attached.

Hmmm,
Okay, I copied the new .pvr file and now XBMC crashes whenever I enable PVR. Sad

I have attached the debug log, but I dont think there is anything in there of value...

Looks like it doesn't manage to load the library, so doesn't get as far as running anything.

I'm very much a Windows guy though, and not that knowledgable on Linux. I suspect it'd work if you could build it from source.

No worries. I'm like you, very much a Windows guy.

I will poke around and see if I can find instructions on how to build on Linux. I think I have seen instructions, just not sure how to point to your repo.

When I compiled it on my RPi it crashed as well, some weird error 4 which wasn't handled. When installing from ZIP XBMC placed it in /home/"userbname"/.xbmc/addons/pvr.nextpvr
