I've folowed this step by step http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...rkRecorder and the dct seems to function fine as it sees all my tuners but in NPVR settings nothing ever shows up. What am I doing wrong?

Start by uploading your NetworkRecord.xml file and I will have a look to see that it is ok. The most common problem is not stopping the recording service to do the configuration. Also include your NRecord.log when you try to record.

I have not made any recordings. Nothing shows up under settings\devices in NPVR. I have never used NPVR so I am in initial setup here. MCE can access and record just fine. I noticed that sagedct had the encoder start port the same as the second tuner so i did change that to 6969 and i've tried 6969 and 6970(tuner2port) in xml file. Always stopping dct and npvr services when I make changes. Firewall is turned off.

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<Settings>
<PluginSettings>
<NetworkRecorder>
<FriendlyName>Tuner2</FriendlyName>
<host>127.0.0.1</host>
<port>6969</port>
<delay>2000</delay>
</NetworkRecorder>
</PluginSettings>
</Settings>

That is what it would look like you if you didn't stop the recording service. Could you stop the service, and follow the steps 1-6 on the wiki again. You will need to put copy the backup database over the existing npvr.db3

I'm going to services and clicking stop on NPVR Recording Service and in task manager nrecorder.exe drops off. Is there something else?
There is no npvr.db3 in C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR should I be looking elsewhere?

Does this help ...

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...alledParts

Plus, NextPVR on the Start menu should include shortcuts to start and stop the recording service.

No.
The noob is going to go out on a limb here and say there isnt going to be a db3 file if I cant even setup a recorder. I just removed reinstalled and there is no db3 file. ALL I HAVE DONE IS INSTALLED NPVR AND RUN THROUGH THE SAGEDCT SETUP. I HAVE NEVER USED NPVR BEFORE.

Ok I got it. I was putting all of this under the program directory not the data directory.

Yes sorry I wasn't clearer but I assume based on my wiki and dljones8053 excellent guide http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...extPVR.pdf you knew where the db3 file was to back it up, because that is one of the first steps in installation. If you any questions and I ask for logs, they are in the Logs folder which will be C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Logs and I will want the NRecord and NPVR logs

Unfortunately I can't do a simple installer because of the need to stop the recording service, but I will add a little more information on the wiki on that.
