Tv Tuner hangs or freezes

Hello, this is my first post on this forum, i've installed NextPVR yesterday after struggling several weeks with Media Portal...

The intention is to use NextPVR as a solution to supply to 2 ATV2 extenders, using XBMC.

I installed the server correctly, with Analog (Hauppauge PVR 150) and Digital (Pixelview ISBDT Usb dongle).

The problem i have is that the analog tuner seems to hang or freeze, so if i use it on the pc, then quit NPVR and try to use it on XBMC, a sign will show that there are not tuners available.

the same happens if i tune a channel on xbmc, exit the app, and then try again to tune, the same sign will appear.

the only fix is to reboot the pc, until then it will show that sign...

My system is Win 7 Ultimate 64bits, I5 processor and 4gb ram (i have 8gb, but due to drivers issues with the Analog card had to use only 4gb)

Do you have any idea or if there is a script to release the tuner automatically after each exit?

You'll need to reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your nrecord.log and npvr.log so I can take a look. Is the same problem also happening with your digital channels?

I haven't used a PVR150 in a very long time, but didn't these requires less than 4GB of ram?

I will try to do it now through log me in and attach the log files... and yes indeed, they require less than 4gb, thats why i need to modify the msconfig to only use 4095 of ram (wasting 4gb)

here are both logs...all 3 different events where recorded, i reboot the pc, open npvr and play the first channel of live tv, then stopped livetv, move to the guide select a new channel and the first error appears, no recording available, then give a new chance and select another channel, now the error was unable to find a capture device...

something is making the tv tuner to crash after watching for the first time...i can leave the same channel for hours and it will work until i change it stopping the live tv...if i change the channel without stopping it, it will show me the new channel selected without issues..

In the logs it looks like it's unable to find your hardware encoder filter after first use. Did you not have this problem with Mediaportal?

Can you run filtercheck.exe before and after the problem, and post the filtercheck.log for each run?

media portal never worked thats why i switched to NPVR...again i will try to do it know and post it...

here is the log, i made 3 different logs

the first one, just after the complete reboot

the second one, after the sign says unable to find recording device

the last one after it says unable to find capture device


all 3 seems to show the same info, and the tuner is still there...

Sorry, I'm not really sure what to suggest on this one. I cant see anything obvious in the logs.

It appears that the directshow call to find the matching encoder filter is failing, but no real clues why.

If you're able to test it, does temporarily removing more ram help? ie, so you have less than 4GB of physical ram.
