[SIZE=2]My daughter has been using GBPVR on fairly old Windows XP hardware (my cast off) with a PVR-350 capture card, Radeon 9600 AGP video card, output on 2nd monitor via VGA to a Panasonic TX50 (1024 x 768 resolution)

I have just installed a Nova S Plus satellite capture card and NEXTPVR but I'm having issues getting full screen playback of the .TS files.
There is always a black bar top and bottom, with "Auto" aspect ratio the video takes up only about 50% of the screen height, with "Remove Letterbox" we get to about 75% of the screen height, with a custom aspect ratio, I can get the image to stretch vertically but still uses no more that 75% of the screen height.

I have tried many combinations of screen resolutions, UI Resolution, and Video Renderer. There was one Video Renderer that gave me full screen video but the video becomes unwatchable, very slow and choppy, not sure but I think it was VMR9 Custom. There is no internet available at the house so I can't easily check the settings and repost.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this sorted?
Cheers

1024x768 isn't 16:9 resolution...it's 4:3
so there must be scaling option[aspect ratio options] on the tv, so set tv to auto aspect or just display or fill..
if possible, select a resolution in windows that actually is widescreen, 1280x720 etc, and with tv aspect set properly, should be good to go..
what is npvr's aspect ratio set to? [i think in first section]

and what resolution options are there in windows?

Panasonic (is it a plasma?) TVs often had strange resolution options, so a widescreen set could genuinely be 1024x768 because its pixels are actually wider than normal. It obviously confuses a PC though, so you really need to set the output to something properly widescreen (like 1280x720) and then hope the TV can scale it correctly back to its native format.

what do you have the TV Shape set to? It should be 16:9 if the TV is 16:9. It makes no difference what the resolution is.

Thanks for your help guys. I lost track of the thread and didn't see your replies, I didn't have my subscription settings correct.
Yes the Panasonic is a plasma, with non-square pixels
I had the TV shape set to 16:9 and eventually found a combination of renderer/decoder/resolution that worked although the aspect ratio has to be on "Fill" as "Auto" still results in a distorted letterbox view.
I'm pretty sure there would be no problems with a more modern Video card and HDMI connection rather than VGA, but that was not an option.
Cheers
