You lot have started the port already Wink

Graham, I've nicked your labelled bottle of LBV and am saving unfoiling the wrapper and popping the cork until tomorrow night.

My first R-Pi build made me think better to keep a clear head

Did you make more than one bottle? Big Grin In that case there should be enough for everyone to have a glass!

I just love the thought of the king of PVR programs is sleeping in front of the TV and not watching it!

Merry Christmas to my old friends! I still hate DRM issues and that it forces me into WMC7 Sad I still lurk around here and miss the team.

Here's to a great new year with lots of cheer and pi!

Sorry but Churchills 10 year old this year. Perfectly acceptable with the cheese board.

Managed to slice the end of my thumb with my Victorinox knife whilst cooking dinner this evening. Arse. Back to the port then! or maybe a single malt?
Got the Led Zep Celebration day BluRay for crimble...oh yeah!

I prefer something a bit drier with cheese - maybe a cru Beaujolais like a Fleurie or a Morgon - I tend to treat a good port the same as a nce sipping whisky Smile

I know what you mean. We had a spectacular Rioja with (fish) Christmas dinner that worked very well indeed with the cheese before we drank it all and moved onto the port.

I'm on the GlenTurret now, miniature #1 of 4 (I visited the still on holiday a couple of years back so nice to sample this one)

Have I turned this into a foodie/booze thread?

Thumb still hurts but at least bleeding has stopped..

Believe Glen Turret is the single malt from Famous Grouse? We don't do Whisky in this house any more, far too old to take it!

What's wrong with a foody/boozy thread?

So Alex is into the Gamay grape then?

gEd I presume a white Rioja with the fish? Sorry to hear of your chef related injury.... but they happen. The glass of port dulls the pain Big Grin and the glass of Whisky get's rid of it completely (until the morning) when you realise what you have actually done is cut off half your finger Big Grin

Correct, it is one of the malts used in the blending of Grouse.
I think whisky is the perfect xmas present. I absolutely love it, never buy it for myself and when it's gone, it's gone.
Red Rioja with sea bass on a bed of wild mushroom and roast potato with a salsa verde (Jamie recipe). I don't subscribe to this notion of only drinking white wine with fish, it all depends on the dish itself. This dish had some strong flavours so the red worked well.

I also do not subscribe to have Red's with Meat and White's with fish only. Have often gone against the grain here! Was the Rioja quite vanillery? That may have balanced the flavour of such a full Fish Dish well?

Now I am wondering what I am doing on a geeky thread asking about Food/Booze choices Big Grin

When I only came here to get tips on building my Pi(e) Shortcrust or Puff.... Wink
